All international events of the Federation will not be held in Russia. In addition, dogs in Russia will be banned from participating in various events organized by the organization. Meanwhile, many Western countries have also announced sanctions on Russian dogs, including banning them from participating in this year's European Dog Championships in Paris. Dogs in Russia will also be unable to attend the biggest dog show in the UK, the Crufts Show, from March 10-13.

The British Kennel Club is not a member of the International Kennel Federation, but has claimed to fully support the federation's decision to ban dogs from Russia. The Swedish and Finnish Kennel Federation announced that it would stop registering dogs imported from Russia.

Shortly before Russia's dogs were sanctioned, the International Feline Federation announced it would ban cats from Russia from participating in the organization's exhibitions abroad and suspend all events in Russia. On February 28, the organizers of the "European Tree of the Year" campaign announced on its official website that Russian trees were banned from participating in the "European Tree of the Year" selection.

"Dogs have no nationality and do not participate in politics"

In response, Vladimir Golubev, chairman of the Russian Kennel Federation, responded that in his memory, there had never been any international sanctions against Russian dogs before. Therefore, the decision of the International Kennel Federation violates the organization's constitution. Russia will not impose such a ban on dogs from other countries.

Vladimir said: "We pet dog breeders don't have to panic about these bans because they know that the best dogs in the world are concentrated in Russia. They are snapped up abroad, including in the US, Canada, etc. We have the world's best dogs. Excellent dog breed. We are going to organize similar competitions ourselves as an alternative to international dog shows. Without Russian dogs, international dog shows would be boring. I would like to remind that the International Kennel Federation exists for the whole world Dogs have no nationality and are not involved in politics. If the International Kennel Federation makes dogs the object of hatred, it unfortunately means that it has forgotten its own goals, principles and ideals.”

Close the skies to Russian migratory birds?

Vladimir Burmatov, a member of the Russian State Duma, is puzzled by these increasingly outrageous sanctions from the West. He said: "This kind of behavior by Western countries is absolutely unreasonable, what are our quadrupeds doing wrong to the West? What is the ultimate goal of their restrictions?
